About the event
In this Workshop, we will discuss the following:
- Revision of Melodic Dictation
- Harmonic Awareness
- Chord Recognition
- - Listening chords on an instrument or using a digital tool.
- - Participants must attempt to identify the type of chord (major, minor, dominant, etc.).
- - Cadence
- Harmonic Dictation
- - Listening short chord progressions or harmonic sequences.
- - Participants attempt to notate the chord progressions.
- Integration & Application
- - Combine pitch, rhythm, and harmonic elements in short musical excerpts.
- - Participants work together to identify and notate the various components.
- - Discuss the importance of integrating ear training into regular practice routines.
